Faculty Fellows are Central Michigan
University Faculty who provide professional
development and conduct educational research
in PK-12 classrooms on teaching and learning
in science, math, technology, environmental
education, and service-learning.
Selection:
Faculty Fellows will be selected through
an application process. Interested
CMU faculty should fill out an online
application and then go through a screening
process by the Center’s
executive board. Applicants are sought
from departments offering courses in
mathematics, science, environmental science,
environmental education, or classroom
methods. Fellows will be selected in
such a manner as to maximize the number
of departments represented during any
one year. If more fellow candidates apply
during a semester than what is needed,
a priority list will be established.
Those on the waiting list will be rotated
in as fellows as quickly as possible.
Professional development and research
needs will determine the number of fellows
selected.
Faculty Fellows may apply in either
the professional development and/or classroom
categories. Up to five Faculty Fellows
will be selected each semester and then
matched with the activities of the Center.
Faculty Fellows will have access to all
data generated by the research studies
of the Center.
Term: Faculty Fellows may apply for a term
of one or two semesters. Faculty Fellow
positions are renewable. Appointments
will be confirmed with the faculty member’s
department chair and Dean. |
