Odyssey
School ( http://shepherd.edzone.net/ody/index.php ) is an alternative middle school and
high school in the Shepherd School District.
Situated on 81 acres of forest and wetlands,
the school is the home of the Odyssey
Nature Project (ONP) where Odyssey students
conduct environmental education programs
for visiting elementary students every
fall and spring. CMU preservice teachers
and outdoor education majors work with
Odyssey students to create lesson plans
and activity books for the elementary
students who come for interpretative
walks on the extensive trail system on
the property.
Odyssey has been a PDS site since January
2005. The school hosts CMU student teachers,
midtier field experience students, and
outdoor education volunteers. Odyssey is
a PDS site for environmental education,
math, science, technology, and service-learning. |
